The Production Cook position at Sodexo, based at the Iroquois Nursing Home, provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and delivering top-quality food service. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with an hourly pay rate of $20. The work schedule includes afternoon and evening shifts with varying days and rotating weekends. As a Production Cook, you will be integral to preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for all meal periods and special events, adhering strictly to Sodexo's culinary standards.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Walk or stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as required
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to support effective workflow
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
