The Baker II role at Starbucks Reserve Kitchen plays a crucial part in maintaining the kitchen’s success. This position involves performing a variety of baking duties, including preparing breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and other pastries. Bakers work closely with the Head Baker and Lead Baker to assist in production planning and execution, upholding stringent quality and sanitation standards throughout the process. A Baker II at Starbucks Reserve Kitchen will develop and refine their skills in a fast-paced, creative kitchen environment, using advanced equipment such as spiral mixers, dough sheeters, and dough dividers. They must be knowledgeable in both metric and standard weight systems and adept at dough handling, from cutting and shaping to proofing and baking. Attention to detail and efficiency are essential to ensuring each product meets Starbucks standards and delights customers. Partnering within the Reserve Kitchen team also means performing various support duties assigned by kitchen leadership, driving operational success and customer satisfaction.

- 2+ years baking in a professional kitchen – commercial kitchen a plus
- current Health Code Certification (as per State and Local DOH requirements) preferred
- ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
- ability to lift and carry 35lbs on a consistent basis and up to 55lbs occasionally
- ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy
- attention to detail
- passion for learning culinary arts
- ability to work quickly and efficiently while executing at a high level

Job Duties
- Prepares designated bakery items based on established recipes
- executes daily production lists and maintains Reserve and Starbucks Gold Standard
- receives ingredients and other supplies from the main kitchen and or pantry as required for daily operation
- uses mixers such as spiral, twin arm, Planetary (Hobart), dough sheeters, dough dividers/molders and scales
- familiar with the metric and standard weight systems
- cuts and weighs dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in pans
- proofs dough and bakes in oven using peel
- inspects product for quality during and after baking and adjusts processes as required
- performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
