Job Description
Starbucks, a globally recognized coffeehouse and coffee brand, has been committed from its inception to being a different kind of company—one that celebrates the rich tradition and culture of coffee while bringing a sense of connection and community to its customers. Known for its commitment to developing extraordinary leaders who are passionate about service, Starbucks continually elevates its brand through innovation and quality. The Starbucks Reserve brand expands this commitment by elevating the coffee experience with unique flagship stores and culinary kitchens across the United States. These Reserve locations and kitchens are vibrant, energetic environments where culinary ambassadors craft fresh, meticulously made food offerings that pair perfectly with Starbucks’ high-quality coffee.
Starbucks Reserve Kitchens focus on creating artisanal baked goods including pastries, cakes, focaccia-style pizzas, and breads, crafted with impeccable ingredients and attention to detail. This role of Baker II at Starbucks Reserve Kitchen is central to this vision, contributing significantly to the kitchen's success by preparing a variety of baked goods such as breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and other pastries. The Baker II supports the Head Baker and Lead Baker in the daily execution of production plans, ensuring adherence to quality and sanitation standards, and maintaining consistency with the Starbucks Gold Standard. This position requires proficiency in the use of bakery mixers (spiral, twin arm, Planetary like Hobart), dough sheeters, dough dividers and molders, and various baking techniques.
As a vital member of the Reserve Kitchen team, the Baker II receives ingredients and supplies, weighs and molds dough, monitors baking processes, and inspects finished products for quality. The role demands not only technical baking skills but also a passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Partners in this role are expected to embody Starbucks' principles and policies, fostering a work environment that is supportive and aligned with the company's values.
Employment at Starbucks typically includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time accrual, and holiday pay. Starbucks also offers a 401(k) plan with employer matching, stock programs, tuition coverage through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, and various financial well-being resources. The company embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing equal opportunity employment and reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. Overall, the Baker II position at Starbucks Reserve Kitchen represents a rewarding opportunity for experienced bakers to advance their careers in a dynamic, globally respected company while contributing to an extraordinary culinary and coffee experience.
