The Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) role at Airgas in Billerica, MA, is a critical position within the company’s filling industrial operations. This full-time second shift opportunity (1pm-9:30pm, Monday-Friday) offers competitive pay at $25.75 per hour along with comprehensive family benefits starting after just 30 days of employment. In this role, the Cylinder Loader is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of high-pressure and liquid cylinders on and off trucks, strictly adhering to federal, state, and local regulations as well as Airgas safety protocols. The associate inspects cylinders prior to filling to ensure compliance with government and company safety standards and accurately identifies cylinders by reading labels and color codes. They operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment effectively to maintain smooth site operations. Attentiveness to detail and safety is paramount as the associate examines returned cylinders for defects, carries out minor maintenance tasks, prepares cylinders for reuse, and maintains precise records of cylinder types and quantities. The associate also segregates defective or out-of-test cylinders to uphold quality standards and supports a collaborative team environment by contributing to various team needs.

This position is designed for individuals who have mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and at least one year of related technical experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Candidates with experience using SAP or similar ERP systems, proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications, and capable mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages will find this role a great match.
