Job Description

This opportunity is located at Stock Yards in Aurora, IL and offers a 2nd shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, with additional Saturdays as needed and possible overtime. The role is centered within a food processing environment, specifically handling meat products. The expected base rate for this position ranges from $19.00 to $21.25 per hour, with overtime compensation as applicable. Benefits include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.

The 2nd shift position involves working in a fast-paced environment dedicated to preparing meat products for feed lines or preliminary stages of processing. Employees in this role must proficiently use various tools, processes, and materials to package meat products within planned schedules. Adhering to Food Safety requirements along with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is vital in maintaining the quality and hygiene standards. This position requires performing visual inspections of meat products to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness of the general work area is expected to support a safe and efficient work environment.

Candidates should be prepared to work in refrigerated conditions ranging from 35°F to 45°F and occasionally in freezer environments from -10°F to 10°F, with company-provided apparel for protection. The role demands physical stamina and capability to stand continuously, lift and carry varying weights regularly, and perform frequent activities such as pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, grasping, and manipulating objects. The position may require overtime work, sometimes with little notice, and shift completion depends on the fulfillment of work tasks rather than a fixed end time.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in production, warehouse, food processing, manufacturing, or food service warehouse environments who are able to maintain consistent performance in a refrigerated workspace. It offers a dynamic work atmosphere with opportunities for skill development in various aspects like product receiving, packaging, sorting, re-boxing, marination, further processing, and sanitation practices adhering to safety regulations. This employment type offers a blend of physical activity and technical precision, appealing to those committed to quality food production under stringent standards.
