Job Requirements
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions
- Requires simple use of formulas and adjustable measuring instruments
- Employees must be at least 18 years of age to perform this role
- Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Ability to work scheduled shifts 5:00am-1:30pm or 9:00am-6:30pm
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Physical ability to perform food preparation tasks
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service setting
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions
- Requires simple use of formulas and adjustable measuring instruments
- Over 3 and up to 6 months training preferred
- Food production or food service experience preferred
- Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work weekends and mixed shifts
Job Duties
- Prepares cold foods and limited hot foods as directed
- Assists in the preparation of supplements and other nourishments
- Prepares custard, diet custard, jello, and other similar products
- Washes and prepares vegetables
- Slices meats and cheeses using electric slicing machine
- Uses knives and electric blenders and choppers
- Prepares composition salads and assembles cold plates including salads and sandwiches
- Maintains work area cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Operates and maintains food preparation equipment according to standards
- Communicates and coordinates with supervisor regarding duties and supply needs
- Maintains quality control charts for production, dating, temperature readings
- Participates in other food service functions as directed
- Bakes items as designated
- May work on various trayline positions
- Serves hot and cold food according to standard procedures
