The Production Assistant role at The Comfy Cow is an essential position that supports the Production Manager in the creation of baked goods and ice cream preparation products. This part-time position may require some weekend availability from time to time, providing flexibility for candidates seeking work-life balance. The Production Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that the bakery and ice cream products meet the high standards the company is known for. Job Requirements

  • Experience in bakery, restaurant, or hospitality industry or equivalent academic training

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a bakery, restaurant, hospitality industry or similar retail business
  • Academic training equivalent thereof

  • Reliability, organization, and effective communication as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Bake cookies, pies, pastries, and other baked goods
  • Use icing, fillings, and decorations for presentation
  • Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, following recipes
  • Roll, cut and shape dough to form pie crusts, tarts, cookies and other related products
  • Place dough or batter in pans, molds or on sheets and bake in a convection oven
  • Observe products while cooking and adjust controls as needed
  • Mix icings and other toppings and decorate cakes and other baked goods
  • Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins and cutting tools
  • Mix, cut, and form dough according to recipes
  • Use machinery and appliances for mixing, baking, and storing baked goods
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen area
  • clean cooking equipment, dishware, and utensils
  • Support production of baked ice cream inclusions
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
