The Production Assembler role is based in Skokie, Illinois, as part of the Howmet Fastening Systems division, which holds the number one global ranking in aerospace fastening systems and is a North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. This position offers employment from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour along with eligibility for an annual bonus. This role is vital to the manufacturing team's success, involving hands-on assembly operations that contribute to the production of aerospace and transportation products. The Production Assembler's duties include operating manufacturing equipment, maintaining quality standards through inspection, assisting with line setups, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment in compliance with all health and safety policies.

The ideal candidate will show a strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement, demonstrating careful attention to detail and a willingness to learn new technical skills. The role requires physical stamina including continuous standing for up to 8-10 hours a day, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required. Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking continuously
  • Must be able to handle continuous standing for 8-10 hours daily

Job Duties

  • Safely perform a variety of assembly operations, complying with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
  • Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment following established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with line set ups, start up and maintaining a clean and orderly work area
  • Maintain quality standards as described in the quality system by visually inspecting parts, components and subassemblies
  • Recognize and solve minor problems that arise
  • Perform any necessary material handling requirements of the job
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned
