The role at Smiths Interconnect focuses on the assembly of all products within the production area using specialized assembly machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, or measurement systems by interpreting complex engineering prints and product process plans. This position involves executing tasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding, and fitting on assembly units with precision and adherence to quality standards. Attention to detail is imperative, as manual dexterity and the ability to work with very small parts are crucial skills for this role.

The role also requires familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) processes, test and production machine setups, and the ability to separate non-conforming product from conforming product effectively. Candidates will participate in testing and research & development activities associated with both company’s and competitors’ products and components. A key aspect of the role includes maintaining production rates above 80% for the output and ensuring compliance with Smiths Interconnect’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, procedures, and training requirements. The position may entail responsibility for closing jobs and pulling production schedules for the team, demonstrating leadership and organizational capabilities.
