The Producer I (Event) position at ESPN plays a critical role within the live sports production team, responsible for leading and managing the creative development, production execution, and administrative oversight of assigned sports events. As a Producer I, you will collaborate with senior production staff, including Coordinating Producers and Vice Presidents, to identify and develop innovative content that elevates the live sports telecast experience. You will oversee the full spectrum of producing activities for the assigned events, including managing production staff, technicians, and other professionals both on-site and remotely. Your leadership is essential in shaping the production schedule, defining broadcast formats, directing live event integrations, coordinating graphics and replays, and ensuring all elements align with the strategic vision.

This role also entails guiding on-air talent to deliver clear and dynamic commentary while maintaining a smooth flow of production assets throughout the event. You will foster a collaborative production environment, orchestrate pre-event meetings to set creative direction, and troubleshoot any production challenges alongside technical and operational teams. The Producer I will maintain strong editorial control over telecast content such as storylines, replay choices, and graphic content, ensuring each broadcast not only reports the action but tells compelling stories that engage viewers.

Additionally, the role involves mentoring and coaching production staff, encouraging creativity, and supporting their professional development to build a strong and cohesive team. You will participate in key decisions regarding creative direction, content development, and cost management for the events. The position demands a high level of adaptability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by event schedules.

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $115,500 to $154,800 per year, with the final compensation package reflecting internal equity, geographic considerations, and candidate expertise.
