Job Description

The role offered is a leadership position during primetime hours, specifically from 3 PM to 7 PM Monday through Friday and 11 AM to 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The primary objective of this role is to drive sales and enhance the customer experience by providing strong leadership support and direction within the store. This position involves partnering with store and department leaders to establish a high-performance culture where associates are fully aligned with the business strategy and equipped with the necessary knowledge and training to consistently deliver exceptional service. As a key leadership figure on the floor, this position entails motivating and empowering associates through effective communication and a positive, respectful atmosphere. The leader is responsible for setting department performance goals, supporting teamwork, and ensuring the store meets its sales and operational objectives. The role requires hands-on involvement in various operational tasks such as order management, inventory control, product rotation, merchandising standards, and promotional activities.

A significant part of the role is also dedicated to creating an inviting environment for customers by answering questions, making product recommendations, and promoting store specials. Training and development of associates are crucial, including participating in performance appraisals and fostering ongoing growth. Maintaining safety standards and compliance with all local, state, and federal laws is integral to the leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication skills, a capacity to handle stressful situations, and proficiency in basic math. Desired qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, some retail or produce experience, management experience, and an additional language proficiency which could enhance customer interactions. Job Duties

  • Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours
  • partner with store and department leaders to develop a high-performance culture
  • promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude
  • communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates
  • establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork
  • ensure orders are put up in a timely manner, work backstock, rotate product and replenish shelves throughout the day
  • train and develop associates on job performance and participate in performance appraisals
  • create a welcoming environment for customers, respond to questions, make suggestions, and locate products
  • inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples
  • ensure merchandising standards are followed and inspect products for quality and freshness
  • create and execute sales promotions with store management
  • inform associates about current and upcoming promotions
  • ensure daily execution of in-stock behaviors
  • implement period promotional plans for the department
  • maintain product freshness and cleanliness through hourly conditioning
  • ensure clean backroom and prep areas following 5s practices
  • execute a good close to achieve morning readiness
  • organize inventory process, monitor stocking conditions, and train associates on inventory and CAO
  • maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and record temperature logs
  • reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and report necessary repairs
  • report all safety risks, illegal activities including robbery and theft
  • adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
