Job Description

This job opportunity is with a prominent retail grocery store that places a premium on delivering exceptional customer experiences while fostering a positive, high-performance work environment. The position focuses on providing leadership support and direction to associates, partnering closely with store leadership and department leaders to cultivate a culture of performance and accountability. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring associates are well-trained and equipped with the knowledge necessary to deliver a consistent, superior customer experience. Leadership responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations such as inventory management, merchandising standards, and safety compliance. The role demands a hands-on leader who can inspire and empower team members, manage product quality, and maintain an inviting store environment that encourages customer engagement and satisfaction.

In this capacity, the leader will also manage promotional activities and oversee the execution of sales initiatives designed to boost departmental performance, working collaboratively with store management. Equally important is the role of maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly workspace following company guidelines and safety regulations. This leadership role requires someone capable of handling pressure with a positive attitude while promoting trust and respect among colleagues. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is paramount, alongside a solid foundation in basic mathematical skills to support inventory and sales functions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in produce or retail environment preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Must adhere to safety and company policies
  • Must perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours
  • Partner with store and department leaders to develop a high-performance culture
  • Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
  • Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets
  • Ensure timely replenishment, product rotation, and backstock management
  • Train and develop associates and participate in performance evaluations
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and respond to their inquiries
  • Inform customers about specials and offer product samples
  • Ensure merchandising standards and product quality are maintained
  • Create and execute sales promotions with store management
  • Educate associates on current and upcoming promotions
  • Enforce in-stock behaviors and promotional plans daily
  • Maintain product freshness and cleanliness through hourly conditioning
  • Ensure clean backroom and prep areas adhering to 5s practices
  • Manage a good close for morning readiness
  • Oversee inventory process and train associates on CAO
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs
  • Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and company guidelines
  • Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
