The Produce Team Member role at Whole Foods Market plays an essential part in delivering this mission by ensuring that our produce department is well-stocked, attractively presented, and complies with the highest food safety and quality standards. This position focuses on receiving and preparing products, managing displays, preventing spoilage, and providing exceptional customer service to maintain the company’s reputation for excellence. The successful candidate will assist in organizing seasonal and volume items, perform inventory checks, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the department. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for natural foods and sustainability. Job Requirements

No prior retail experience required
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift
Ability to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
Ability to use ladders as required

Job Duties

Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
Assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor
Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
Assist with periodic inventory checks
Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
Maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards
Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
Immediately report safety hazards and violations
Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
