The Produce Team Member role at Whole Foods Market plays an essential part in delivering this mission by ensuring that our produce department is well-stocked, attractively presented, and complies with the highest food safety and quality standards. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift
- Ability to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- Ability to use ladders as required

Job Duties
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
- Assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
- Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
- Assist with periodic inventory checks
- Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
- Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- Maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations
- Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
