With a mission centered on nourishing both people and the planet, Whole Foods Market is much more than a grocery retailer—it is a movement toward healthier living and environmental stewardship. The company invests in various initiatives such as funding grants for school gardens, improving access to fresh and healthy food for underserved communities living in food deserts, and supporting efforts to alleviate poverty in developing countries. By joining Whole Foods Market, team members become part of a larger purpose that extends beyond the store walls and impacts communities globally.
The role in question is a Produce Team Member position that plays a vital part in maintaining the quality, appeal, and availability of fresh produce. The position is entry-level and offers hourly pay ranging between $17.50 and $25.40, depending on experience. It is suitable for individuals looking to start a career within retail and who are passionate about natural foods and customer service. The role involves responsibilities such as receiving and preparing produce, ensuring that displays are fresh and well-stocked, monitoring product quality, and assisting with inventory. Produce Team Members are expected to uphold Whole Foods Market's high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
This job also demands teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to learning about the products sold. Team Members will be trained to understand the differences between conventional and organic produce, employ suggestive selling techniques, and handle various equipment safely. The work environment requires physical stamina, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Beyond the daily operational duties, the Produce Team Member supports store programs, promotes company values, and helps maintain a positive shopping experience for customers. Whole Foods Market offers comprehensive benefits, including paid time off, health and wellness programs, financial wellness resources, and employee discounts, making this position a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth within a mission-driven company.
