This role requires a leader who can balance operational excellence with thoughtful team management and customer engagement. The Produce Lead is responsible for ordering, merchandising, inventory control, product quality, and food safety, ensuring that the department runs smoothly and efficiently every day. They are also expected to collaborate closely with store leadership to identify ways to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in produce, grocery retail, or food service
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of produce handling, ordering, merchandising, inventory management, and food safety practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Lead and support produce and floral team members during daily operations
- Order, receive, merchandise, and maintain fresh products while managing inventory levels and minimizing shrink
- Ensure products are properly rotated, attractively displayed, and consistently meet quality standards
- Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, gross margin, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Train, coach, and develop team members while providing clear expectations and accountability
- Create effective daily task plans and help ensure work is completed to a high standard
- Partner with store leadership to implement improvements and solve operational challenges
- Collaborate with the Deli department to maximize product utilization and reduce waste
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable service while resolving customer questions professionally
