Job Description
Barilla is a global leader in the food industry with a rich heritage dating back to 1877 when it started as a small shop in Parma, Italy. Over the years, Barilla has expanded its reach to more than 100 countries and has grown into an internationally recognized group. Known for its commitment to progress, quality, and excellence, Barilla boasts a portfolio of 22 beloved brands. The company is the world leader in pasta and the top choice for ready-made sauces in Europe. It holds a strong leadership position in bakery products in Italy and for crispbread in Scandinavia with the Wasa brand. Barilla's success is driven by a passionate team of nearly 9,000 employees working across 30 plants and offices worldwide, all dedicated to the mission of nourishing the future with purpose and passion.
The Processing Operator role in Pasta Manufacturing at Barilla offers an exciting opportunity to join this iconic brand and contribute directly to producing world-class pasta products. This role involves working with advanced manufacturing equipment and overseeing multiple stages of pasta production, from semolina to finished goods. As a Processing Operator, you are integral in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of the production process. The position requires hands-on operation and monitoring of equipment such as mixers, extruders, cutters, and dryers used in producing various pasta shapes and sizes. You will set up and install dies, load raw materials, and make process adjustments necessary to maintain product specifications and high-quality standards.
In addition to operating machinery, you are responsible for maintaining clean and safe working conditions by following food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), sanitation, and workplace safety protocols. Collaborating with quality assurance, packaging, and maintenance teams is vital to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime. The role also entails routine equipment inspections and minor troubleshooting, along with keeping precise production records and documentation.
Barilla offers competitive pay starting at $22.77 per hour with a $1.50 per hour shift differential, supporting a flexible 2/2/3 schedule of 12-hour shifts. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan with up to 6% company matching, paid life insurance, wellness reimbursements, tuition reimbursement, and more. This role is best suited for candidates with a high school diploma or GED and experience in manufacturing or machine operation. Food manufacturing experience is a plus, as is mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail, the ability to follow production procedures, and capacity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment are crucial for success.
By joining Barilla as a Processing Operator, you become part of a proud tradition of pasta making that feeds millions globally. The company values an inclusive and equitable workplace where diversity is celebrated and equal opportunities are guaranteed. Your efforts will help bring exceptional pasta products from semolina to spaghetti to countless tables, making a tangible impact in the food industry and the community. Barilla’s commitment to quality, innovation, and employee development creates an inspiring work environment for individuals eager to build a rewarding career.
