Job Description
The hiring organization is a leading global engineering and construction firm specializing in the food and beverage sector. With a commitment to innovation, safety, and client satisfaction, the company serves a diverse range of markets including dairy, protein, beverage, chocolate, pet food, frozen and prepared foods, salty snacks, and bakery. Renowned for its expertise in process technology and engineering design, the company supports clients from early project conceptualization through to feasibility studies, cost estimation, and full project execution. With a strong focus on collaboration, continuous learning, and industry best practices, the firm has established itself as a trusted partner for clients aiming to maximize operational efficiency and safety while optimizing capital investments.
The role of Global Facilities Food & Beverage Process Technology Manager (PTM) is pivotal to the company's ongoing success and growth in its food and beverage markets. As the overall manufacturing and technology expert for one or more submarkets within the food and beverage industry, the PTM will carry substantial responsibility in shaping the early stages of client projects. This includes working closely with the Business Development team to identify and capture opportunities that align with market trends and client needs. The PTM will be deeply involved in all phases of early project definition, from proposal development and conceptual engineering to conducting feasibility studies and generating preliminary cost estimates classified as Class 4 or 5.
The ideal candidate should bring a wealth of process design and technology implementation experience along with strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams. They will provide technical oversight for assigned projects primarily focused on the feasibility and conceptual design phases. An essential aspect of the role involves integrating Process Safety principles into project development to ensure the safe construction and operation of client facilities. This encompasses adopting inherently safer design approaches, utilizing risk-based decision-making, and applying industry-leading practices to manage operational risk while improving lifecycle performance.
Further responsibilities include leading or participating in value engineering to optimize project dimensions and costs, maintaining current industry knowledge, and sharing insights with Food & Beverage management and marketing departments to support strategic direction. The PTM will also represent the company at conferences and technical seminars by delivering presentations and contributing to marketing efforts. Coaching and mentoring of sales pursuits, capture teams, and Subject Matter Experts is another key contribution expected to bring the 'voice of the customer' into project and business development efforts. This role demands a high level of leadership, technical expertise, market awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
The full-time position is based primarily in Kansas City, Missouri, with opportunities for work in other locations including Connecticut, Wisconsin, Colorado, Georgia, Minnesota, and Illinois. The role requires approximately 25 percent travel to support client engagements and company initiatives. Compensation for this role ranges from $215,000 to $390,000 annually and includes eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program. The company's comprehensive benefits package supports employee well-being through insurance, disability coverage, time off, wellness programs, participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and a 401(k) retirement plan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional in chemical engineering with a passion for innovative food and beverage process technology to join a dynamic, employee-owned company focused on growth and industry leadership.
