Job Requirements
- BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other science related program, or High school diploma (or equivalent) with minimum 2 years experience in chemical processing
- Experience operating manufacturing or laboratory equipment
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to wear respiratory protection and hearing protection devices
- Must have accurate color vision and 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to follow written procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Willingness to enroll in medical surveillance program
- Ability to access elevated work surfaces via ladders or stairs
Job Qualifications
- BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other science related program, or High school diploma (or equivalent) and minimum 2 years experience in a chemical processing area
- Experience operating manufacturing or laboratory equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math skills including multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages
- Familiarity with metric systems and conversion methods
- Ability to multi-task and work in an organized manner
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Responsible for manufacturing and assembly of clinical and commercial products
- Operates production equipment
- Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities
- May help in validating processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization
- Maintains records and clean room environment to comply with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
- Works on moderately complex projects
- Exercises judgment in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
- Provides lab support for manufacturing suites
- Learns how to run equipment, read and understand SOPs
- Supports processing by adhering to SOPs
- Follows HazMat procedures for movement of raw materials used in chemical processes
- Supports investigations
- Reviews SOPs
- Troubleshoots and offers ideas on improvements
- Interacts with other departments to share information
- Performs other duties as assigned
