Job Description
MLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a prominent global supplier specializing in high-calcium lime products and technical solutions. With over a century of industry experience, MLC has become synonymous with quality, safety, and sustainability in its field. The company serves a wide range of applications including metals, construction, chemical synthesis, water and emissions treatment, glass, textiles, plastics, rubber, agriculture, and the food and beverage industries. MLC's commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship has earned it recognition such as Newsweek's America's Greatest Workplaces and an EcoVadis Sustainability Rating. These accolades highlight the company's dedication to creating a supportive and sustainable work environment.
MLC operates the largest lime facility in the Americas and sources some of the purest limestone reserves in the world. The company maintains a global presence with production and distribution facilities in the United States and the UK, underscoring its expansive market reach and ability to deliver high-quality products worldwide. The work environment at MLC is highly collaborative, focused on growth, innovation, and employee development. Safety and sustainability are prioritized across all operations, fostering a workplace where employees can thrive professionally and personally.
The Process Technician role at MLC is a critical position that involves operating and maintaining a computer-controlled limestone milling system. This role not only supports production but also ensures adherence to stringent product quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The Process Technician engages closely with state-of-the-art equipment and employs technical skills to perform quality testing such as XRF (X-ray fluorescence), moisture, and sizing tests to confirm product specifications. Preventive maintenance and repair responsibilities are integral parts of the role, requiring the technician to troubleshoot equipment issues to avoid downtime and maintain steady production flow.
In addition to equipment operation, the Process Technician assists with truck loading and material flow management using heavy machinery, contributing to overall logistics efficiency. Monitoring processes and implementing production improvements are ongoing tasks aimed at optimizing operational performance. Recordkeeping is also a key responsibility, encompassing production logs, quality control documentation, and shipping records like bills of lading (BOLs). Inventory management and coordination of raw material ordering fall under the technician’s purview, ensuring uninterrupted production cycles.
The company offers a comprehensive and thoughtfully designed rewards package for its employees, aimed at financial security and career advancement. Highlights include a 401(k) plan with matching contributions plus an employer-funded contribution regardless of participation, tuition reimbursement covering 100% of approved education expenses after six months of employment, paid vacation and holiday pay, and health savings account contributions combined with wellness programs. Other benefits encompass company-provided disability insurance, employee assistance programs offering mental health and personal support, incentive programs tied to individual and organizational performance, and ongoing career development opportunities. Student loan reimbursement assistance is an upcoming benefit, reflecting MLC’s focus on supporting employee financial well-being.
This full-time position demands a candidate who is adaptable, safety-focused, and capable of working rotating shifts including overtime and holidays. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of industrial manufacturing experience, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and demonstrate a proactive commitment to continuous improvement. MLC is dedicated to nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees can bring their authentic selves to work and grow within a global, expanding organization.
