Job Description

Parkridge Medical Center is a leading healthcare facility located near downtown Chattanooga, operating as part of HCA Healthcare, the nation’s foremost provider of healthcare services. This medical center is a comprehensive 270-plus bed hospital known for a broad spectrum of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These include advanced specialties such as cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spine surgery, rehabilitation, OB-GYN services, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The facility also supports behavioral health treatment centers for both children and adults, ensuring holistic care. Parkridge Medical Center emphasizes the importance of its people, echoing the belief that “Bricks and mortar do not make a hospital. People do.” This philosophy underscores their commitment to fostering an environment of respect, growth, and satisfaction for every employee and patient.

The available position is for a PRN Housekeeper, within the Environmental Services I Hospitality Associate role, designed for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements with their current employer or those desiring a part-time role in healthcare housekeeping. This role primarily involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout various areas of the facility. As a crucial team member, the housekeeper is responsible for adhering strictly to the center’s safety and sanitation protocols, wearing appropriate uniforms, and maintaining professional personal appearance standards at all times. The role requires reporting any hazards or unsafe work conditions promptly to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The PRN Housekeeper collaborates closely with facility leadership to recommend improvements that enhance the patient experience, demonstrating a proactive approach to service excellence.

Efficiency and adaptability are key aspects of this role. The housekeeper must identify under-serviced or unserviced areas and creatively adapt cleaning processes to improve effectiveness across the medical center. Proper utilization of cleaning supplies and resources to avoid waste is another critical responsibility, emphasizing the center’s commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least one year of experience in a healthcare or service-related field and have a high school diploma or equivalent. This opportunity offers an enriching work environment within a respected medical institution, providing both personal and professional growth.

As part of the Parkridge Medical Center team, employees benefit from a comprehensive rewards package that supports health, career development, financial well-being, and work-life balance. The package includes extensive medical and wellness benefits, paid time off, family leave, retirement savings plans with generous matches, educational support, and additional unique benefits such as adoption assistance and legal counseling. This role offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to a healthcare institution that values community, innovation, and the well-being of both its patients and staff, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in healthcare hospitality roles.
