Job Description

DigiStream Investigations is a fast-growing, national private investigation firm headquartered in San Jose, California. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality investigative services across the United States, DigiStream focuses on a variety of cases including fraud, worker's compensation claims, and other legal matters. The company is recognized for its professional and hands-on training programs developed over more than 20 years, dedicated to equipping investigators with the skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and challenging field. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and career development, DigiStream provides its employees with opportunities for growth and advancement through structured promotion tracks and continuous education. The positive workplace culture includes quarterly team-building events to encourage camaraderie and collaboration among team members.

This private investigator role at DigiStream Investigations is an exciting, full-time position based in the Bay Area, California, aimed at individuals seeking a career with a sense of adventure and purpose. Unlike typical desk jobs, the role involves active fieldwork, extensive travel, and considerable autonomy. The primary focus is to conduct covert investigations on potential fraudulent Worker’s Compensation claims, capturing evidence that is crucial for defending legal cases. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match. The starting hourly pay is $21, with frequent overtime opportunities. In addition to compensation, employees receive a company vehicle, equipment like video cameras, laptops, and tripods, and reimbursement for cellphone bills. Travel time in the company vehicle is paid, adding to total earnings, which typically range from $50,000 to $65,000 annually.

The work schedule averages 40-55 hours per week, typically 10-11 hours per day, including early morning starts and evening shifts as needed. Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, and the willingness to travel and stay overnight on remote assignments are essential requirements for the role. Duties involve monitoring and videotaping subjects across different environments, developing surveillance strategies, and producing detailed reports with video evidence. The role demands confident driving skills, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to pass DMV and background checks. DigiStream supports new hires in obtaining their private investigator license by covering costs and guiding them through the process.

Joining DigiStream means entering a career path that can extend into various fields such as law enforcement, federal agencies like the FBI, ATF, and US Border Patrol, legal professions, corporate security, and investigative journalism. The role offers employees a unique opportunity to gain professional experience and skills valuable across several industries, all while working in an engaging, active, and supportive environment. This position is perfect for those with an adventurous spirit who thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable work setting where no two days are the same.
