Job Description
DigiStream Investigations is a fast-growing national private investigation firm based in Oakland, California, known for its professional approach and commitment to uncovering the truth. Established over 20 years ago, DigiStream specializes in conducting covert investigations primarily related to potentially fraudulent worker's compensation claims. Our team operates with integrity, precision, and diligence, serving clients who require credible evidence to support their legal and insurance claims. As a leader in the investigation industry, DigiStream provides comprehensive training, modern equipment, and a supportive environment to ensure the success and growth of our investigators. We pride ourselves on offering a career path that is both challenging and rewarding, appealing to individuals who desire autonomy, travel opportunities, and a role filled with purpose and excitement.
The position of Private Investigator at DigiStream Investigations is far from a routine desk job; it is designed for adventurers and curious-minded professionals eager to make a real difference. This role involves a unique blend of surveillance, analysis, and fieldwork, providing a dynamic day-to-day experience. As a Private Investigator, you will have the responsibility of conducting in-depth surveillance by monitoring and following subjects engaged in their daily activities, utilizing video technology to capture undeniable evidence. The job requires you to develop pre-surveillance strategies tailored to each case, often involving travel across the Bay Area and sometimes staying overnight for remote assignments. You will be equipped with a company vehicle and all necessary surveillance gear, including video cameras and laptops, to perform your tasks efficiently and discreetly. In addition to fieldwork, detailed report writing and regular communication with team leaders are essential to document observations and ensure all intelligence is accurately conveyed.
Working at DigiStream comes with significant benefits such as health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match, paid travel time, and comprehensive hands-on training developed over two decades. Starting pay for entry-level investigators is $21 per hour, with frequent opportunities for overtime. Our company distinguishes itself by valuing its employees, providing company vehicles, paid travel time, and promoting career growth through a Surveillance Investigator Promotion Track. Daily schedules average 40-55 hours per week, often around 10-11 hours per day, which includes commute and travel time compensated as work hours. We foster a strong team culture with quarterly team-building events to encourage camaraderie among staff.
This role is perfect for individuals interested in a career that could lead to positions within the FBI, law enforcement, ATF, US Border Patrol, legal fields, and corporate security or investigative journalism. The skills gained here not only pave the way for professional advancement in private investigation but also open doors to various law enforcement and investigative careers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment where no two days are alike, sporting a strong work ethic and the drive to deliver precise and credible surveillance results.
