Job Description

DigiStream Investigations is a rapidly expanding national private investigation firm known for delivering exceptional investigative services across various regions, including the Bay Area in California. With over 20 years of professional experience, DigiStream prides itself on its expert team, superior training programs, and commitment to providing high-quality, covert investigative services. The company specializes in uncovering evidence to assist in defending potentially fraudulent Worker’s Compensation claims among other investigative tasks. DigiStream is not just another investigation agency; it strives to create a dynamic and rewarding work environment where its employees can learn, grow, and pursue fulfilling careers in private investigation and related fields.

The role of Private Investigator at DigiStream Investigations offers an exciting full-time career featuring autonomy, travel, and meaningful impact. Unlike typical desk jobs, this position demands an adventurous and curious individual who thrives in dynamic environments and embraces the unpredictability of investigative work. Investigators in this role engage in covert surveillance, working to gather critical evidence that helps clients combat fraudulent claims effectively. The role requires 40-55 hours of work per week, averaging 10-11 hours per day, including travel and commute time, which is compensated. Starting hourly pay begins at $21, with frequent opportunities for overtime compensation, reflecting the commitment and effort required.

This position offers employees much more than just a job. By joining DigiStream, Investigators gain a valuable entry point into the investigative and law enforcement sectors, with professional hands-on training developed over two decades. Employees receive company-provided vehicles, modern surveillance equipment, and the benefit of paid travel for assignments, whether local or remote. The culture supports growth via a Surveillance Investigator Promotion Track, ensuring opportunities for career advancement within the company. Benefits are comprehensive, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan featuring a 4% company match, making this a well-rounded employment opportunity supported by a dedicated team environment that hosts regular team-building events.

Day-to-day, Investigators engage in monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects while maintaining cover, employing strategies tailored to each case’s details and site setup. This includes activities ranging from filming individuals in public venues such as grocery stores or sports games to preparing detailed reports and video evidence submissions. Effective communication with team leaders is crucial for coordinating tactics and sharing updates during investigations. The unique combination of travel, investigative work, strategic planning, and reporting ensures that every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities.

For motivated individuals, this position can serve as a stepping stone toward long-term careers in various fields such as law enforcement, FBI, ATF, US Border Patrol, crime labs, legal professions, security, and investigative journalism. The role demands availability every day of the week, including weekends and holidays, with a readiness to start work as early as 5:00 am and occasionally work into the evenings. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold confident driving skills, and be capable of passing DMV and background checks. The safety and compliance measures uphold the company’s commitment to professionalism and efficacy in all assignments.

Overall, DigiStream Investigations presents an exceptional opportunity for detail-oriented, adventurous individuals seeking an active career in private investigation. With a combination of hands-on training, competitive compensation, a supportive team environment, and extensive benefits, this role leads to personal growth, job satisfaction, and long-term career pathways in investigative and law enforcement fields.
