Job Description
DigiStream Investigations, based in Mountain View, California, is a reputable private investigation firm renowned for its professional and comprehensive investigative services. Specializing in uncovering evidence to support clients dealing with potential fraudulent Worker's Compensation claims, DigiStream provides an exciting and dynamic work environment. This company stands out in the investigative field by offering full-time roles that include a competitive starting hourly rate, comprehensive benefits, and company-provided vehicles, making it an attractive place for individuals looking to build a long-term career in investigations or related fields.
The position of Private Investigator at DigiStream Investigations is anything but a typical desk job. Designed for individuals with a curious and adventurous spirit, this role offers a unique blend of travel, autonomy, and meaningful career purpose. Private Investigators at DigiStream are tasked with conducting covert surveillance and investigative assignments that require keen attention to detail, critical thinking, and dedication to justice. This full-time role demands an average workweek of 40-55 hours, with shifts often extending to 10-11 hours a day. Unlike most investigative firms, DigiStream values the work-life balance and compensates employees for travel time in company vehicles as paid time on the clock.
Employees can expect to gain invaluable experience through DigiStream's extensive, hands-on training program developed over two decades. This training equips new investigators with the skills necessary to conduct surveillance, strategize covert operations, and handle evidence collection effectively. Team camaraderie is fostered through quarterly events and collaborative work settings, enhancing morale and professional development.
Working as a Private Investigator involves diverse daily activities such as monitoring subjects during various activities, conducting vehicle and foot pursuits discreetly, and meticulously documenting and reporting findings. The role also involves preparing pre-surveillance strategies that are crucial to successful evidence gathering. The company provides all essential investigative tools, including surveillance vehicles, video camera equipment, laptops, and support for fuel and maintenance costs.
DigiStream offers one of the most unique career pathways in the field, providing opportunities for promotion through its Surveillance Investigator Promotion Track. Employees at DigiStream not only build skills applicable within the company but also open doors to numerous careers in law enforcement, federal agencies such as the FBI and ATF, legal professions, security, corporate investigations, and investigative journalism.
The compensation package ranges from $50,000 to $65,000 annually, factoring in paid commute time and frequent overtime, making it financially rewarding. Additionally, DigiStream provides comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match. Cellphone bill reimbursement and paid travel to and from both local and remote assignments enhance the overall employee experience.
Candidates interested in this role must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, possess confident driving skills with a clean DMV record, and be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. This job requires flexibility, willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed, and the ability to start work early in the morning. DigiStream supports new hires through the PI licensing process fully, covering costs and guidance.
Overall, DigiStream Investigations offers a fulfilling, action-oriented career for those ready to step up to the challenge, providing professional growth, competitive compensation, and a supportive work environment that recognizes the value of its investigatory staff.
