Job Description
DigiStream Investigations is a rapidly expanding national private investigation firm headquartered in the Greater Bay Area of San Ramon, California. Known for its commitment to professional excellence and keen investigative insight, DigiStream has established itself as a leader in the field of private investigations, specializing in worker's compensation and liability claim fraud detection. This company combines a passion for justice with advanced investigative techniques to provide high-caliber evidence essential to defending their clients' claims. The firm supports a dynamic work environment, emphasizing autonomy, professional growth, and practical hands-on experience for investigators who embody an adventurous, curious spirit and a desire to make a meaningful impact. DigiStream offers comprehensive employee benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, alongside a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match, and provides company vehicles and paid travel – a combination almost unique in the investigation industry. Employees are compensated for commute and drive time in a company vehicle, adding a significant value to their overall salary package. This full-time role requires candidates to reside in California due to the nature of case assignments across various locations within the state.
The Private Investigator position at DigiStream is far from a traditional desk job. This role involves exciting, varied daily tasks and opportunities for travel, ensuring no two days are alike. Investigators conduct covert surveillance on subjects suspected of fraudulent behavior related to workers' compensation or liability claims. The work includes monitoring, following, and filming subjects in various settings—from grocery stores to sports events—while maintaining cover and executing pre-surveillance strategies based on case specifics. Daily responsibilities further extend to detailed report writing, capturing video evidence, and consistent communication with team leaders to adapt tactics and positions during investigations. This role requires investigators to be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, with typical workdays ranging between 10 and 11 hours including travel time. The company encourages the growth and development of their team members through a structured Investigator Promotion Track, making this position a valuable stepping stone for careers in law enforcement, legal fields, corporate security, journalism, and more.
Working at DigiStream means joining a highly skilled team dedicated to excellence and camaraderie, with quarterly team-building events designed to foster collaboration and morale. Professional development is supported through a well-established training program that draws on over 25 years of experience, ensuring investigators are equipped to excel in their roles. The position offers an entry-level pay of $21 hourly with frequent overtime, leading to an annual salary range between $50,000 and $65,000 or more, thanks to paid travel and drive time. These features, combined with state-of-the-art equipment and company vehicles including late-model Toyota Highlanders and Honda Odysseys, provide investigators everything needed to succeed in the demanding and rewarding field of private investigation.
