The position involves monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects in diverse settings, ranging from routine locations like grocery stores to dynamic environments such as sports games. Investigators are expected to develop and implement pre-surveillance strategies tailored to each case, maintain regular communication with team leaders, and travel extensively, often out of state for 10 to 15 days per month.

DigiStream provides company-issued vehicles, equipment, and resources necessary to perform the job effectively, including a surveillance vehicle with a fuel card, video camera, laptop, and tripod.
