Manhatta combines sky-high elegance with down-to-earth hospitality, providing guests an exceptional dining experience that celebrates seasonal, inspired cooking made with the highest quality ingredients. The restaurant also functions as a full-service event space, making it a preferred destination for private celebrations and corporate events. Union Square Hospitality Group is well-known for its culture of Enlightened Hospitality, where employees are empowered, guests are cherished, and the community is respected. The company’s culture focuses on care, creativity, and growth, which reflects in every aspect of the Manhatta experience.
The role of Private Dining Sommelier at Manhatta is an integral position within the restaurant’s Service team. This role demands a passionate wine professional dedicated to curating unforgettable wine experiences for guests who dine in the private dining rooms. As a trusted partner to sommeliers, bartenders, and service staff, the Private Dining Sommelier acts as an extension of the Beverage Director. This position involves curating and maintaining a superior wine program that enriches the guest experience, providing expert guidance and tailored recommendations on wine and beverage selections. Beyond the mastery of wines, this role also entails educating the service team about all beverage offerings including spirits, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks, fostering continuous learning and growth.
The Sommelier supports the financial goals of the restaurant by managing inventory responsibly and implementing wine programs that align with the business’s revenue growth objectives. The position offers the opportunity to demonstrate a wide range of skills across multiple service roles, requiring flexibility and eagerness to grow continually. Duties include service support, inventory management, restocking, and ensuring exceptional guest service at all times. This role promises a stimulating environment where the candidate can thrive alongside a passionate and dedicated hospitality team committed to excellence and innovation. The employment opportunity offers competitive pay at $50 per hour, with quick access to earnings through innovative digital tools. Additional benefits include comprehensive health coverage, paid time off, retirement savings plans, and more, all underscoring USHG’s commitment to their employees’ wellbeing and professional growth.
