Job Description
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, a distinguished luxury hotel brand under the Marriott International umbrella, represents the epitome of timeless glamour combined with modern sophistication. Established originally by John Jacob Astor IV with the debut of The St. Regis hotel in New York City at the dawn of the 20th century, this brand has continually upheld a legacy of bespoke, anticipatory service delivered by a team of gracious hosts. With over 50 luxury hotels and resorts located in premier global destinations, St. Regis is synonymous with elegance, exceptional guest experiences, and premium service standards, including their renowned Butler Service. As part of Marriott International, the world leader in hospitality, the brand embraces diversity and inclusion, offering dynamic career opportunities that foster an environment where unique backgrounds and talents are celebrated. The work culture is rich with opportunities to grow professionally, encouraged to bring your best to the role, and supported to belong to a global team focused on hospitality excellence. The position offered is at the Bal Harbour location of St. Regis, situated in Florida, known for its upscale environment and discerning clientele seeking personalized and attentive service during their dining experiences. This role is a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary department, specifically focused on Private Dining services. This role centers on managing transactions and operations related to payment processing, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with financial and company policies as set forth by St. Regis and Marriott International. The role requires the individual to handle various payment methods accurately, ensuring all accounting procedures and policies are meticulously followed. Managing the assigned bank includes securing the appropriate cash for expected business levels, verifying the bank’s accuracy, performing regular audits such as blind drops, and securing funds appropriately at all times. The role also involves preparing and maintaining designated cashier reports, resolving discrepancies promptly, and securing receipts and funds safely. Setting up and maintaining the cashier workstation is essential, requiring the organization of supplies, forms, and resource materials, as well as cleanliness and readiness of the station. Opening duties involve preparing necessary tools and supplies to guarantee operational readiness at the start of each shift. In addition to financial accuracy, the position emphasizes strict adherence to company safety and security procedures, including reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management swiftly to maintain a secure workplace. Personal presentation is important, as employees must maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and uphold confidentiality regarding proprietary information. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills to welcome and engage guests warmly, anticipate their needs, and provide genuine appreciation through service. Communication must be clear, professional, and courteous, both verbally and on the telephone, to support a positive guest experience and effective teamwork. The candidate will work collaboratively to foster a supportive environment aiming to achieve common service goals. They will also ensure that all quality standards and service expectations are consistently met or exceeded. The position entails the ability to operate point of sale systems and various computer programs to efficiently process transactions and access work-related information. Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and the capability to move objects up to 10 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be assigned by supervisors as necessary to support operational and service excellence. This opportunity provides a platform for individuals at entry-level to gain experience in a prestigious hospitality setting, with preference given to candidates holding a high school diploma or equivalent, although no prior related work or supervisory experience is required.
