Job Description

Our company is a distinguished culinary service provider specializing in personalized dining experiences and private culinary services. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality and gourmet meal preparation tailored to the unique tastes and needs of each client. With a commitment to quality, creativity, and client satisfaction, our establishment offers professionals the chance to elevate their culinary careers beyond the traditional restaurant environment.

This full-time Private Culinary Specialist role represents a unique and rewarding career opportunity for culinary professionals seeking a balanced work-life schedule. The position provides a stable Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm work routine, ensuring that evenings and weekends remain free for personal time. In this role, you will serve as the personal chef to 8-9 clients per week, managing all aspects of their culinary experience, including grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, and kitchen maintenance. This role allows you to showcase your culinary creativity across diverse cuisines while fostering meaningful client relationships that value your expertise and personalized touch.

Beyond weekly meal preparation, our chefs have the opportunity to expand their skill sets and influence by hosting private dining events and dinner parties, teaching engaging cooking classes, leading corporate team-building workshops centered on cooking, and contributing to special projects such as menu design and event catering. This variety enriches the role and allows for continuous growth and development.

Unlike traditional kitchen positions, this role emphasizes direct client interaction, predictable hours, and creative freedom in menu planning. Chefs enjoy a steady workweek without the late nights or weekend demands typical of restaurant jobs. Moreover, this position offers growth pathways beyond the kitchen, including event coordination, culinary education, and leadership roles. We are invested in our chefs' professional development through mentorship, hands-on training, and career advancement opportunities.

Compensation includes an hourly rate of $23-24, with supplemental pay through bonuses and referral incentives. Medical and dental benefits are provided after 90 days, with the employer covering 65% of premiums. After one year, eligibility for enrollment in a 401k retirement plan with a 4% employer match is available. Life and disability insurance are provided at no cost to the employee. Outstanding performers can anticipate raises based on annual evaluations, along with potential for financial advancement.

Ideal candidates possess at least four years of line experience, strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive mindset oriented towards relationships and growth. Required certifications include ServSafe Manager and applicable state-specific Allergen certifications. A reliable vehicle and basic proficiency with computers, email, Google Workspace, and social media are preferred. Background checks and E-Verify confirmation are standard procedures for all hires. Some travel may be necessary during training, with travel expenses reimbursed.

The interview process involves an initial 15-minute screening call, followed by a video interview, a paid bench test cooking session with reimbursement, and a full-day paid stage. This thorough evaluation ensures candidates align well with both the role and company culture.

Overall, this is a compelling opportunity for culinary professionals eager to engage creatively with private clients while enjoying a balanced lifestyle and rich career development options. If you are passionate, dedicated, and growth-oriented, this position welcomes your application and commitment to excellence.
