Job Description

This opportunity is for a Private Executive Chef position at a prestigious private family estate located in the Detroit / Birmingham area. The estate is a high-end residential environment that requires an experienced chef skilled in culinary excellence, delivering sophisticated meals that consistently meet the expectations of an ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) family. The position is primarily full-time with regular working hours from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, although some flexibility is required to cover weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings during busy periods throughout the year.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working with private residential clients including UHNW clients
  • Fine dining experience required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Strong verbal communication and leadership abilities
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good understanding of various cuisines and cooking techniques

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience working as a private chef for high-net-worth clients
  • Fine dining culinary background
  • Proficiency in various cuisines, butchery, baking, and pasta making
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt menu and techniques to client preferences
  • Knowledge of health and safety kitchen standards
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Plan meals according to client preferences and dietary needs
  • Shop for and source high-quality ingredients
  • Prepare and cook all meals ensuring taste and presentation standards
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Manage inventory of food and beverages across properties
  • Adapt to new cooking techniques and client requests
  • Lead kitchen staff and coordinate with other household personnel when necessary
