Job Requirements
- Customer service experience working directly with customers
- Understand and demonstrate excellent customer service creating a caring and respectful environment
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Skill to use basic mathematical calculations, read digital scale, operate cash registers, and count cash
- Ability to check computer online schedules, email, and complete mandatory online training and testing
- Understanding of basic diet, nutrition, and menu terminology
- Ability to work in environments with very sick patients
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision while maintaining desired quality and quantity of work
Job Qualifications

- Familiarity with basic diet, nutrition, and menu terminology

- Prior experience in food service preferred
Job Duties
- Perform assigned duties in various Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) locations and other UC Davis Health campus areas
- Provide patient services including trayline, food delivery, diet kitchen, dish and pot room tasks
- Serve in retail roles such as cashiering, barista, stocking, and serving
- Participate in food production activities including issue room, cold and hot production, and storeroom operations
- Support catering functions including delivery, serving, event food assembling and preparation
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards consistently
- Communicate effectively with patient-care units, visitors, and staff to promote excellent customer service
