Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Business Operations Lead to join the Engineering & Sciences (E&S) Hardware Engineering team located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity that offers a dynamic and highly visible role where the selected candidate will partner directly with the MSTS RM HWE Director and leadership team. The primary objective is to drive strategic initiatives, establish operating rhythms, and support data-driven decisions across a large, multifaceted engineering organization. This role is essential in transforming the Director’s vision into operational realities, ensuring alignment and collaboration within the entire MSTS E&S organization.

The Business Operations Lead will be responsible for managing the business operational aspects of the HWE organization, leading cross-functional teams, and facilitating program or project initiatives. The role demands a strategic thinker who can also engage in hands-on tasks, enabling seamless execution across teams and sub-organizations. Key responsibilities include driving strategic execution, establishing and maintaining operational cadence, facilitating communication and collaboration, supporting stakeholder engagement, leading special projects, workforce planning, and analytics, as well as providing leadership support through meeting preparation and coordination.

The position can be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal Business Analyst level, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Salary ranges from $98,900 to $148,300 for Principal level and $123,400 to $185,000 for Senior Principal level, with eligibility for additional benefits such as overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives for higher leadership roles. This role requires a U.S. Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, along with U.S. citizenship. Candidates should have demonstrated project management skills, analytical capabilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Preferred qualifications include leadership experience in technical or functional roles, engineering degrees particularly in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, experience with Jira, Confluence, Agile leadership, and strong organizational and communication skills.
