Job Description

Northrop Grumman is a global aerospace and defense technology company renowned for its commitment to innovation and advanced technological solutions that impact national security and global defense. With a rich history that includes pioneering achievements—from the first flight across the Atlantic, the development of stealth bombers, to landing on the moon—the company continues to lead in engineering cutting-edge systems that protect and connect millions of people worldwide. Northrop Grumman fosters a unique culture that values intellectual curiosity, diverse perspectives, and a collaborative spirit, allowing employees to bring their whole selves to work. The company encourages bold ideas, courage, and a pioneering attitude while emphasizing the importance of making history with projects that shape the future of global defense and security.

The Principal Production Planning and Scheduler for the F-35 Modification Upgrade and Overhaul (MUO) is a vital role embedded within the Lockheed Martin MUO team, which includes multiple industry partners such as Northrop Grumman. This position is responsible for managing complex project timelines and ensuring seamless coordination across various disciplines involved in the modification and retrofit of defense systems related to the F-35 program. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, authors, supply chain personnel, and planners/schedulers to execute planned upgrades efficiently and on schedule.

This role responds to the demands of a high-stakes defense environment where precision in planning and scheduling directly supports mission readiness and sustainment. The candidate will be tasked with analyzing Initial Retrofit Plans to define critical milestones, managing cradle-to-grave project execution, developing modification work packages, and providing support during verification and proofing events of assigned projects. Regular reporting and stakeholder engagement through briefings and progress reviews are key components of the role. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs, including occasional travel and overtime work.

Depending on the experience and qualifications, this position can be staffed at either the Level 2 or Level 3 Production Planner and Scheduler classification. Level 2 candidates should have at least two years of relevant planning and scheduling experience and a bachelor's degree in a related technical or business discipline, while Level 3 candidates require five years of experience and comparable educational qualifications. U.S. citizenship and a current Government Secret Clearance or higher are mandatory, with the ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance if required.

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range for this position, with Level 2 roles offering between $65,800 and $98,800 annually, and Level 3 roles ranging from $81,800 to $122,600. Additional compensation may include overtime pay, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives for leadership roles. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, life and disability coverage, paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation and personal business. As an equal opportunity employer, Northrop Grumman promotes diversity and inclusion in its workforce and complies with all applicable employment laws and regulations. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to national defense and be part of a team that drives technological innovation in aerospace and defense.
