The role offered is for a Principal Digital Product Configuration Management Engineer, based onsite at the RTX Facility in Tucson, Arizona. This is a full-time position requiring active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance at the Top Secret level from day one, and this role is restricted to U.S. citizens due to security clearance regulations. The salary range for the position is between $107,500 and $204,500 USD, reflective of varied experience levels.

In this role, the selected candidate will work within the Digital Products Configuration Management (DPCM) department, which focuses on providing innovative configuration management solutions through automation, continuous improvement, and expert support for all digital products. Digital products here encompass a wide range of software types—including embedded tactical software, applications, Built-in Test (BIT) software, reprogramming tools, simulation software, test equipment, configurable logic, ASIC design, analytical qualification tools, MBSE system models, Free Open Source Software (FOSS), and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software.

The Principal Digital Product Configuration Management Engineer’s key responsibilities include managing builds and releases of digital products using both manual and automated pipelines. They facilitate the Digital Change Review Boards to oversee the integrity and compliance of digital changes. Additionally, they maintain the Digital Products Development Library, ensuring control, traceability, consistency, and security of configuration items throughout the development lifecycle. Configuration planning, identification, change management, version control, status accounting, and audits form a significant portion of their duties.

The role demands managing digital product development media libraries, documenting and maintaining guidelines and standards for dependency management, build processes, and version control. The engineer also administers various DPCM tools and applications such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, Git, GitLab, GitHub, Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence. Further responsibilities include managing DevSecOps tools like Coverity, Artifactory, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab CI/CD, and Bamboo, coordinating data transfers across environments, and leading the coordination of various digital product releases to ensure timely delivery aligned with program leadership requirements.

This position is ideal for candidates with extensive experience in version control, change management, agile planning tools, and scripting or automation in Linux, Unix, and Windows environments. A strong background in STEM disciplines, development, and scripting, accompanied by active top-secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include hands-on knowledge of digital product and software configuration management principles, experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies, and familiarity with scripting languages like Perl, Python, and YAML.

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with DP/SW CM tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (ADS), Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and/or Artifactory
  • Experience with building software/digital products
  • Experience with scripting programming languages (e.g., Perl, shell, batch, Python, Ruby, YAML)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), GitFlow, and Agile concepts

Job Duties

  • Perform builds and releases of digital products manually and/or certified pipelines
  • Facilitate the Digital Change Review Boards (DCRBs)
  • Maintain, control, and administer the Digital Products Development Library (DDL)
  • Maintain control, traceability, consistency, and security of all configuration items across the digital development lifecycle
  • Perform and maintain configuration planning and identification, change management and version control, status accounting, and configuration audits
  • Manage digital product development/media libraries and document guidelines and standards for dependency management, build and versioning
  • Provide DPCM tool administration/management control/access to CM relevant tools/applications such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (ADS), Git, Gitlab, Github, Jira, BitBucket, Confluence
  • Administer/manage/use DevSecOps tools like Coverity, Artifactory, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo
  • Coordinate data transfers and courier support among various environments
  • Lead coordination of various digital product releases and interface with functional and program leadership ensuring on-time delivery and configuration management execution in digital development environment/areas
