Job Description
Mountain America Credit Union is a well-established financial institution that serves its members with a broad range of financial products and services. Known for its commitment to member satisfaction and innovative use of technology, the credit union has become a trusted name in the banking industry. As a member-owned cooperative, Mountain America Credit Union emphasizes personalized service, financial education, and community involvement, making it a respected employer with a strong focus on fostering a positive workplace culture and diversity.
This position is for a Senior DevOps Engineer role within Mountain America Credit Union's IT department. This role plays a critical part in collaborating with software engineers, systems administrators, and quality engineers to automate the delivery and monitoring of software systems that support both internal operations and external services offered by the credit union. A Senior DevOps Engineer at Mountain America Credit Union is responsible for advocating best practices in DevOps processes by engaging with multiple IT teams across the organization, ensuring that continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are automated efficiently and securely with a focus on scalability, performance, and high reliability.
The role demands a strong aptitude and passion for system automation, which is pivotal for success. The engineer will provide operational support to software and quality engineers and act as a liaison between development teams and IT infrastructure groups. This involves coordinating standardization efforts across projects to ensure consistency in technology use and troubleshooting production issues effectively. The position requires excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and professional interaction across technical teams.
Key responsibilities include leading efforts for transitioning legacy software deployments into fully automated CI/CD environments, introducing modern technologies such as microservices architectures and cloud computing solutions (including extensive use of AWS and Azure), and mentoring junior DevOps team members. The engineer will also spearhead the establishment of DevOps standards and best practices throughout the credit union, providing consultation across multiple teams and acting as a technical expert in the field.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of DevOps experience with at least 3 years in a senior capacity and a strong background in working with both Windows and Linux servers, scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash, infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, and various CI/CD platforms including Azure DevOps, Octopus, and GitHub. Experience with containerization, Kubernetes administration, and orchestration is essential. Knowledge of software development frameworks such as C#, MVC, and .NET Core is valuable, alongside expertise in test automation frameworks and IT security practices.
The position is full-time and offers a dynamic, fast-paced work environment where problem-solving and continuous learning are highly encouraged. While the role generally maintains regular business hours, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support production releases or resolve urgent system issues. Mountain America Credit Union is committed to accommodating individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process, promoting an inclusive workplace where talent can thrive regardless of background.
This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to a forward-thinking credit union that prioritizes technological innovation and member service excellence. If you are a self-starter with strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to lead transformative DevOps initiatives within a respected credit union, this role at Mountain America Credit Union is an excellent fit.
