The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Strategy and Growth Team is tasked with the long-term growth of the Aeronautics Systems market strategies, aligning resources and investments to meet key business objectives, and developing new and evolved mission solutions for domestic and international customers. This team drives the strategic direction and growth of Northrop Grumman’s aeronautics systems business, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and global customer needs.
The Principal Conference Event Representative (Level 3) role, based on-site in Palmdale, CA, is an integral part of the Customer Engagement team. This role involves leading strategic preparation, logistical planning, and execution of onsite engagements with executive leadership across the Northrop Grumman enterprise. The position requires organizing large-scale special activities involving high-level dignitaries such as Cabinet-level leaders, senior military officials, international delegations, and corporate executives. With a focus on protocol adherence, executive presence, and diplomacy, the Principal Conference Event Representative ensures that engagements effectively communicate critical information aligned with brand messaging and long-term engagement outcomes. The position involves working cross-functionally to design events, coordinate communications, manage logistics, and lead on-site execution incorporating staff, volunteers, and external vendors.
Key responsibilities include securing venues, developing event flows and movement plans, conducting facility walk-throughs, managing scheduling, agenda preparation, and participant readiness through rehearsal sessions. The role demands high professionalism, critical thinking, and organizational capabilities, along with the ability to collaborate and foster synergy across diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience with Northrop Grumman’s culture, processes, and procedures is essential for success in this role.
This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance, the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP), and capability to work independently with minimal supervision. Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance last investigated within 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- High organizational skills and attention to detail
- Capability to work independently and handle physical demands such as standing and walking for long periods
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Understanding of Northrop Grumman culture and operational procedures
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 5 years of related customer support or project management experience, or 3 years with a Masters, or 1 year with a PhD
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance last investigated within 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Understanding of Northrop Grumman culture and demonstrated success working within company’s organization, processes, and procedures
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time to support multiple sites
Job Duties
- Orchestrates large-scale special activities involving Cabinet-level leaders, senior military officials, international delegations, and corporate executives, requiring meticulous protocol adherence, executive presence, and diplomacy
- Identifies and secures appropriate venues and support teams, develops the event flow, prepares movement plans, and conducts facility walk-throughs to ensure site readiness
- Contributes and communicates logistics in all planning and preparation meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals, brand messaging, and long-term engagement outcomes
- Handles scheduling, agenda management and preparation for visits and special activities, prepares and distributes appropriate working documents
- Ensures participants are prepared through dry-run visit/event preparation sessions and walk-throughs
- Collaborates effectively and partners across diverse stakeholders and organizations
- Maintains historical online databases and reporting documents in Salesforce and other server locations
- Directs, plans, and organizes internal and external business-related functions, program special activities, and VIP briefings
- Coordinates, arranges, and contracts for charter ground transportation and facilities support
