We are currently seeking a dedicated Head Preschool Chef, also referred to as a Food Service Manager, to join our team. This pivotal role involves managing all kitchen operations within the school, ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of food preparation areas. Key responsibilities include creating nutritious and appealing menus, ordering supplies while maintaining inventory control, and preparing healthy meals and snacks aligned with wellness standards for preschool students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety, nutrition, and sanitation practices, exemplifying dependability and passion for serving children in an educational setting. Job Requirements

high school diploma or GED
minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a school or childcare setting
ability to meet state specific requirements for Safe-Serve and food service operations
strong understanding of food safety, nutrition, and kitchen sanitation practices
ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and prioritize tasks effectively
must be dependable, organized, and passionate about serving children

Job Duties

create menus, order food, and prepare meals
order products on a regular schedule to eliminate out of stock items such as food, paper goods, cleaning supplies and snacks, as well as process inventory of all kitchen items
ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including all food preparation areas, food containers, refrigerators, and freezers
maintain the highest level of sanitation and be responsible for the inspection with the health department
perform other duties as assigned
