The role of a Prep/Line Cook at Goose Feathers Cafe is integral to the kitchen's functionality and the quality of the food served. This position handles a wide range of culinary tasks ranging from prepping ingredients like chopping vegetables and butchering meats to cooking main dishes, salads, breads, pasta, and even desserts. The Prep/Line Cook may be assigned to a specific station or required to manage multiple stations depending on the needs of the kitchen during each shift. It’s a dynamic role that demands versatility, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to the cafe’s quality standards.
Key responsibilities include managing food storage and disposal to ensure freshness and safety, assisting with the unloading of delivery trucks, and maintaining inventory accuracy by recording supply usage. During each shift, the Prep/Line Cook is accountable for maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked station that meets sanitation requirements set by the Executive Chef and local health regulations. The role also involves supporting the Executive Chef in testing new recipes, helping the cafe innovate and refine its menu offerings.

- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- good physical stamina
- availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
