Job Description
Long Doggers is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant brand dedicated to delivering high-quality food, exceptional drink options, and outstanding customer service. Since its inception, the company has been driven by a culture that values its employees as the greatest assets, believing that the key to success lies in the passion, dedication, and skills of its team members. Long Doggers operates in the hospitality and food service industry and has built a solid reputation for creating a fun and welcoming dining environment, providing guests with memorable experiences through delicious menu offerings and attentive service.
As a part of its continued growth and commitment to excellence, Long Doggers is currently seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic individuals to join their team as Dish/Prep Crew members. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to enter the restaurant industry, gain valuable experience, or develop a long-term career within a supportive and fast-paced workplace. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dish areas, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of food according to company recipes, and supporting fellow team members to contribute to a seamless dining experience.
The Dish/Prep role at Long Doggers is crucial to the kitchen’s smooth operation and the overall guest satisfaction. Those in this role will be actively engaged in cleaning dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment to meet the restaurant’s high standards of hygiene. In addition, the position requires prepping ingredients by executing recipe procedures accurately and efficiently, stocking prep stations, and helping to maintain an orderly workspace. Employees will also need to demonstrate competence in safely handling kitchen tools such as knives, slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.
Physical stamina is a significant aspect of this role — team members must be able to walk or stand for the entirety of their shift, which can last up to eight hours, and safely carry or maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds. Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness extend beyond the kitchen, as the role also includes helping to maintain the cleanliness of the dining room and the overall restaurant to the company’s standards. A collaborative spirit is encouraged, with an expectation to assist fellow colleagues when appropriate, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and mutual support.
Long Doggers offers competitive advantages that make it an appealing place to work. Employees benefit from a 401K plan with company match, vacation and holiday pay, premium shift pay, and access to supplemental insurance options like Aflac. The company encourages career growth, providing opportunities for advancement and skill development. Furthermore, employees enjoy discounts on dining at Long Doggers as well as affiliated venues like Meg O'Malley’s and Hemingway’s Tavern. Flexibility is also a priority, with scheduling designed to accommodate various needs. Additional perks include employee discounts on a range of items and services such as food, apparel, spa treatments, phone plans, and sports rentals, establishing a supportive and rewarding employment atmosphere.
Long Doggers is an equal employment opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring all qualified applicants receive consideration without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This role welcomes individuals who are friendly, dependable, team-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Previous experience is a plus but not required, as comprehensive training will be provided to help you succeed and grow within the company.
