The current role is an entry-level position focused on the preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products in the Prepared Foods department. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours per eight-hour shift
- Capable of performing motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Ability to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to operate tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery
- Ability to work in varying temperature environments including freezing and hot conditions
- Must be prepared to adhere to health and safety regulations
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- No prior retail experience required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties
- Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
- Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- Ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
- Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- Ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
- Helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
- Ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
- Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
- Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
