The role available at Whole Foods Market focuses on preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products within the store's prepared foods venues. This position is essential in maintaining the high standards of quality, food safety, and customer service that Whole Foods Market is known for. The employee will assist with production tasks and ensure products are properly labeled, dated, covered, rotated, and meet the store’s guidelines. Documentation of waste and spoilage is a critical responsibility, helping to manage costs and operational efficiency. Additionally, the employee will provide excellent, courteous customer service, supporting both guests and fellow team members. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $24.40 based on experience and performance, with opportunities for progression after successful completion of a 90-day introductory period. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensure product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • Ensure that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
