The position being offered is an entry-level role focused on the preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products within the Prepared Foods venue. This role requires adherence to standardized operating procedures to maintain quality and customer satisfaction. Team Members in this role are expected to provide courteous, efficient, and friendly service at all times, supporting Whole Foods Market’s core values and health and safety regulations, including food safety standards specific to their department. The position includes responsibilities such as assisting with food production, ensuring proper labeling and rotation of prepared foods, maintaining clean and organized walk-ins and freezers, documenting waste and spoilage appropriately, and addressing customer needs promptly with excellent service. The role entails working in a fast-paced environment where strong communication skills, team collaboration, and a passion for natural foods are essential. The wage range for this hourly position is $16.00 to $25.40, dependent on experience and job responsibilities. After completing the initial 90 days of employment, eligible Team Members may qualify for base pay increases. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capability to bend, twist, squat, and reach during work
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Willingness to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and ladders
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work in temperatures from below freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensure product production follows correct measuring devices and recipes
  • Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers
  • Arrive on time, groomed, dressed, and ready to work, participate in trainings and meetings
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, model suggestive selling techniques, answer phones and pages courteously
