Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
- Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Capability to bend, twist, squat, and reach during work
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- Willingness to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and ladders
- Compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Ability to work in temperatures from below freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Job Qualifications
- No prior retail experience required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and safety standards preferred
- Passion for natural foods and company mission
- Ability to meet customer service expectations
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Willingness to learn and follow procedures
Job Duties
- Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
- Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
- Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- Ensure product production follows correct measuring devices and recipes
- Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers
- Arrive on time, groomed, dressed, and ready to work, participate in trainings and meetings
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, model suggestive selling techniques, answer phones and pages courteously
