The role involves hands-on preparation and serving of various hot and cold food items, such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, wraps, salads, burritos, and pizza. In addition to food preparation, Team Members play an active role in product sampling, merchandising displays, rotating stock for freshness, and managing product inventories. Preparation is coupled with a blend of customer service duties, including responding promptly to customer inquiries, modeling suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales, and supporting store operations by ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, and safety guidelines. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work long periods standing or walking, as well as a commitment to creative teamwork and proactive communication.

The salary for this position ranges from $16.00 to $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand/walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday
  • Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Able to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures including below freezing, refrigerator temperatures, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Cuts and prepares a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • Samples products to customers
  • Stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods
  • Checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
  • Bails and consolidates recyclables
  • Assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets
  • Assists with periodic inventory checks
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work, works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs timely, models suggestive selling techniques, answers phones and pages courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of product
  • Follows and complies with established procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • Reports safety hazards and violations immediately
