This role is part of the Prepared Foods team, where team members play an essential role in delivering fresh, delicious, and wholesome food options to customers. In this position, you will engage in various tasks that include preparing, serving, and stocking a range of hot and cold foods such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pizza. The role requires dedication to exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and adherence to health standards. The position demands an individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and has a passion for natural foods and the Whole Foods Market mission. Team members are expected to embody the company’s core values, ensuring that every customer interaction reflects courtesy, friendliness, and professional service.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for maintaining product quality by rotating stock, checking product dates, and ensuring freshness. You will assist in organizing displays and seasonal items, complete necessary documentation such as temperature logs and spoilage records, and support inventory checks. Punctuality, appropriate grooming, and readiness for work are critical, along with the flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will collaborate closely with team leaders and fellow team members, contributing to a positive work atmosphere and helping to drive sales through suggestive selling and optimal product presentation.
The company offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $16.00 to $25.40, depending on experience and role level. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings

Job Duties
- Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
- samples products to customers
- stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators
- checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
- bails and consolidates recyclables
- assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
- completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
