This Prepared Foods team member will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at delivering exceptional food products and customer experiences. Core duties include cutting, preparing, and serving a variety of hot and cold foods such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, salads, wraps, and pizza. Additionally, team members stock the hot and cold cases and displays, monitor product freshness, and rotate stock as necessary to maintain quality standards. This role also involves ensuring product presentation supports volume and seasonal promotions, as well as handling routine sanitation duties and inventory checks. Candidates will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with Whole Foods Market’s rigorous cleanliness and safety policies.

The role emphasizes customer engagement, including proactive selling and product sampling, with team members expected to develop a robust knowledge of all department products to better serve customers. Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are fundamental. Job Duties

  • Cuts and prepares a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • samples products to customers
  • stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods
  • checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates stock when necessary
  • bails and consolidates recyclables
  • assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
  • assists with periodic inventory checks
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers promptly
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • follows and ensures compliance with health, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environments
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
