This position is part of the Prepared Foods team, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations including food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and stocking. The role requires working collaboratively with other team members and team leaders to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues. Within this role, team members are expected to cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza. Duties also involve sampling products to customers, stocking food cases and displays, monitoring product freshness, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Team members must be punctual, groomed appropriately, and ready to work all scheduled shifts. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking 6-8 hours per day
  • Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • Exposure to approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures of 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • Sample products to customers
  • Stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators
  • Check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary
  • Bail and consolidate recyclables
  • Assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follow and comply with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
