The role being offered is for a Prepared Foods team member who will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service and quality products to customers. The position involves preparing, serving, and stocking a variety of hot and cold food items, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizzas. The team member will provide courteous and efficient service to both customers and fellow team members. Responsibilities include maintaining product freshness through proper rotation, assisting with inventory and merchandising, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates will work closely with Team Leaders to organize volume and seasonal items and contribute to the overall cleanliness and safety of the working and shopping areas. Whole Foods Market offers hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $25.40 depending on experience, along with access to a comprehensive benefits package known as "Whole Benefits." Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • samples products to customers
  • stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators
  • checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
  • bails and consolidates recyclables
  • assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
  • assists with periodic inventory checks
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and equipment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
