The role being offered is within the Prepared Foods team, a vital part of Whole Foods Market's retail operation. Team Members in this position are responsible for the preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of a variety of hot and cold food products. The role demands a high level of customer service, ensuring all interactions promote a positive image of Whole Foods Market by being courteous, friendly, and efficient. Duties encompass cutting, preparing, and serving foods such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza. Sampling products to customers, maintaining display freshness through proper stocking and rotation, and adhering to strict health and safety standards are critical components of this job. Team Members assist with inventory checks and handle the organization of volume and seasonal items under the guidance of Team Leaders. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand and walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- tolerate temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza
- sample products to customers
- stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods
- check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary
- bail and consolidate recyclables
- assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
- complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
- assist with periodic inventory checks
- arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work
- provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, use suggestive selling techniques
- maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follow and ensure compliance with procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment according to cleanliness and safety standards
- perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure pricing accuracy
- immediately report safety hazards and violations
