The Prepared Foods Team Member position provides critical support to the Prepared Foods department by engaging in tasks like food preparation, counter service, sanitation, and product stocking. This role requires a proactive approach to customer service and adherence to rigorous health and safety standards. As a frontline role, the team member not only serves food but also acts as an ambassador of the Whole Foods brand, making customer experience and satisfaction a priority. This position is hourly paid with a wage range of $16.00-$25.40 commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing and walking 6-8 hours per 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to cold and hot temperature ranges
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • availability for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Cut, prepare, and serve various hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza
  • sample products to customers
  • stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in, and refrigerators
  • check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate stock when necessary
  • bail and consolidate recyclables
  • assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets
  • assist with periodic inventory checks
  • arrive to work on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, ready to work
  • provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly
  • maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products
  • follow and comply with established procedures including health and sanitation regulations
  • maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • report safety hazards and violations immediately
