Job Description
Sam's Club is a leading membership-only retail warehouse club operated by Walmart Inc., a global leader in retail with a commitment to providing quality products and excellent customer service. Known for offering a wide variety of merchandise including groceries, electronics, apparel, and prepared foods at competitive prices, Sam's Club aims to serve both individual consumers and small to medium-sized businesses. With a workforce dedicated to creating a positive shopping experience, Sam's Club invests in its employees' development and well-being through comprehensive benefits and educational programs.
This position is based at the Sam's Club location in Murrieta, CA, and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $27.00, with potential additional performance-based incentives and premiums for specific circumstances. The role is designed to be a vital part of the prepared foods team, focusing on food preparation, product knowledge, inventory management, and customer service. As a team member, you will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help educate fellow associates on tools and resources to enhance overall store performance.
The role encompasses several key responsibilities: preparing food according to specific item standards while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and cold chain compliance guidelines; operating and maintaining equipment efficiently and hygienically; planning production to accommodate seasonal demand and mass production needs; and leveraging digital tools for inventory and business management. This tech-savvy aspect of the role includes using handheld technology to streamline business decisions, from ordering merchandise to quality control and member engagement.
In addition to food preparation and operational tasks, the position requires a commitment to excellent member service, including helping customers locate merchandise, assisting with purchasing decisions, and resolving any issues promptly and courteously. You will be expected to own the performance of your work area by managing inventory, rotating merchandise for quality and date control, and minimizing waste.
Sam's Club emphasizes a team-oriented workplace culture, encouraging associates to be brand advocates and talent ambassadors who inspire and support their colleagues. The role demands compliance with company policies on ethics, integrity, and workplace standards, while promoting open communication and continuous improvement. As part of your daily duties, you will prioritize assignments, collaborate with managers and co-workers, and adapt to change with a focus on learning and growth.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food service, technology, and teamwork, offering a supportive environment with opportunities for advancement. The position supports associates' professional development through Walmart’s Live Better U program, which covers tuition and education expenses for a range of programs, from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees and certifications.
Sam's Club is dedicated to fostering a safe and drug-free workplace, complying with all regulatory requirements and promoting employee wellness through a robust suite of health and financial benefits. These include medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k) retirement plans; stock purchase options; life insurance; paid time off including parental leave and family care; and many other perks such as disability insurance and company discounts. The company recognizes the importance of balancing work and life, striving to provide a supportive and rewarding employment experience that benefits mind, body, and wallet.
